64th School National Rhythmic Gymnastics
A team of 9 rhythmic gymnasts from Thane grabbed limelight in 64th School National School Games , held at Agartala, Tripura from 15th Dec to 20thDec 2018. They won total 18 Gold, 15 Silver and 5 bronze medals and Maharashtra teams scored first rank in all U14, U17, U19 age groups.
6 Girls from Thane were representing Maharashtra, 3 girls representing CBSE team participated in 64th National School Games, Rhythmic Gymnastics in various age groups. Competition director was Mrs. Shubhjeet Pabla.
64th National School Games were held at Agartala, Tripura from 15th Dec to 20th Dec 2018. This competition was held in 3 age groups. Under 14, Under 17, and Under 19. In Under 19 age group Kimaya Kadam received 2 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze medals and Divyakshi Mhatre received 1 gold medal. In Under 17 age group Shreya Bhangale received 2 gold, 2 silver medals. In Under 14 age group Sanyukta Kale received 5 gold, 1 silver , Asmi Badade 1 gold, 4 silver, Kimaya Karale 2 Gold medals. All these 6 girls are trained in The Phoenix Gymnastics Academy under Ms. Pooja Surve & Mansi Surve.
3 more girls from Maharashtra represented CBSE and received medals. Kiran Salunke received 1 bronze, Spruha Sahoo (U14) received All round bronze. These 3 girls are also trained in The Phoenix Gymnastics Academy under Coach Pooja Surve & Mansi Surve.
Kimaya Kadam ( U19) , Divyakshi Mhatre (U19), Shreya Bhangale(U17),Kiran Salunke (U19) & Janhavi Thakur (U17) are selected for Prestigious Khelo India competition held by Sports Authority Of India under Hon. Sports Minister Mr. Rajyavardhan Rathod.
Coach Ms. Pooja Surve thanked Hon. State Sports Minister Mr. Vinod Tawade for his support to the team and she is confident about all the Maharashtra Rhythmic gymnasts and she thinks they will certainly give good results in Khelo India competition too.
